The Orange County Library System Writers Conference is an online event that is free to the public. You don’t even need to be a library cardholder to register! Authors and publishing professionals will teach workshops on both craft and business topics. I will be teaching Editing Narrative Nonfiction on Jan. 19 at 5 p.m. (Eastern time).
This retreat features teaching by three great authors: Janeen Ippolito, Seth Ring, and Morgan Busse. You can sign up to attend in person in Maryland, or buy the virtual conference to get session replays with live Q&A by the instructors in the first week of March.
This is a multifaceted conference with sessions for writers, speakers, artists, actors, and filmmakers, as well as self care, publishing, and marketing sessions.
Realm Makers is the only conference for Christians who write speculative fiction.
Which isn’t to say that it’s only for people writing Christian speculative fiction. Realm Makers is a faith-friendly home for anyone writing science fiction, fantasy, horror, steampunk, cyberpunk, or any of the other -punks, whether for the general market or for the Christian submarket. Our goal is to provide top-notch instruction and a supportive community regardless of whether you’re seeking traditional publication or publishing as an indie author.
I’m pleased to be on staff again for 2024, and I hope to see you there!
