The FWA Youth Program (FWAY) will hold its third annual youth conference alongside the main FWA conference, with some of the same faculty members. Topics include character development, ways of giving feedback, screenwriting, comics, poetry, the power of story, and how to pitch an agent. We’ll also have a Q&A panel with some of the faculty about careers in writing.
The youth will join the adult conferees for lunch and celebrate the winners of the Youth RPLA competition. After lunch, the youth who made it into the 2015 FWA Collection will have a book signing.
FWAY is a statewide program for students in middle and high school. Our mission is to help young writers, regardless of their age or socioeconomic condition, achieve more in school and in life. We foster creativity and mutual support through our network of writers, teachers, poets, editors, publishers, and agents.
