Satisfying Endings: A Crucial but Overlooked Element of Great Fiction
One of the most important aspects of any novel is a satisfying ending. A satisfying ending can redeem an otherwise mediocre book, and that an unsatisfying ending can spoil an otherwise excellent book. Some of the biggest problems we see in new writers’ manuscripts revolve around inappropriate endings, including endings that rush through the climax, abrupt endings, and endings in which solutions appear from nowhere. We’ll discuss how to avoid the most common climax and denouement errors and how to ensure the character’s internal story arc is reflected in the resolution of the external plot.
Admission to the workshop is free, though we will take up a collection for gas money. 😉
